Use of our Service signifies acceptance of our Terms of Service.
Terms and Conditions
Verbal agreements that are in contradiction with the below listed terms of service will be considered non binding and will not be honored. Any deviation from the following terms must be obtained in writing.
Package Availability
Packages that arrive on Saturday will not be available until the open of business on Monday. Although we usually have all packages processed by 2pm on weekdays, we cannot guarantee that this will always be the case. We only warrant that a package will be made available for pickup by open of business the day after it arrives. In order to meet our service promise to all our customers we will not be able to stop processing packages and or assign manpower to look among our unprocessed packages.
Packages left behind
We no longer allow packages to be paid in advance (final charges) if they are not being picked up. Package charges (and storage charges if applicable) will be collected at the time you pick the package up. If you have us bring a package to the counter and decide to leave it (for whatever reason) you will still need to pay the pick up fee at that time for the service provided and then pay it again (plus storage fees if applicable) the next time you pick it up. To avoid paying multiple pickup fees please make sure you know which packages you want, instead of asking us to bring them to the counter for you to decide, this will keep us from doing double and/or triple work and keep you from paying for it.
Package Pickup
We will make every effort to locate you package in our system using your name. We recommend that you bring your tracking number since there are times when name lookup will not be possible. We do this as a convenience for our customers. Circumstances that may keep us from locating your package by name include, but are not limited to the following:
Damaged Shipping Label Shipper mispelled your name We mispelled your name Shipper did not put your name on the package
Although it is not required we highly recommend that you bring your tracking/delivery confirmation number to ensure we are able to locate your package in our system. Failure to do so may result in you leaving empty handed.
Storage Fees
Due to space limitations and increased costs for storing packages for more than 2 weeks, we expect all incoming packages to be picked up within 14 days of their arrival. Packages left over this time limit will be charged at the rate of $3.00 per package per week or partial week. This charge will automatically be added to your total when you pickup your package. Most packages have tracking numbers and can be tracked by our customers through the applicable carriers website. In the end it is your responsibility to get your shipper to provide you with this number and track your package to our facility. Email and/or phone notification of the package's arrival is a courtesy and lack of notification does not constitute a reason for forgiving any of our fees including storage fees.
Improperly Addressed Shipments
Packages arriving without a "Receiver Name" may be refused. Any costs that you incur due to the package being returned is between you and the company that shipped your package without your name. If we do keep your package, ownership must be determined to our satisfaction, before the item will be released. Proof of ownership would include but not be limited to knowing the tracking number that the package came in under.
Shipping
For full service claims handling and follow up on a shipment after it has been picked up by your carrier of choice you will need to use either our UPS or Fedex shipping services. If you choose to ship from our facility via the US Postal Service our responsibility for your package ends once the Post Office has accepted it for shipment. We do not warrant the US Postal Service's handling of your package after they have accepted it from us. Should damage and/or loss result from their handling of the package you will need to correspond and/or file a claim directly with the US Postal Service. We do not warrant the suitability of the container and/or internal packing material used for shipping your package. There is no exception to this rule and no one on our staff is authorized to change this stipulation. Verbal agreements with our staff are not binding and will not be honored. The suitability of the package being shipped is the sole responsibility of the Customer. Should a claim for damage and/or loss be denied due to the Carrier determining that the preparation of the package was unsuitable, the Customer shall hold our company harmless for any loss resulting from the denial of said claim.
Abandoned Goods
All packages unclaimed after 90 days will be considered as abandoned and will be removed from the premises. We will, time permitting make an attempt to contact you 7 days before this time limit. If we are unable to, or do not contact you the parcel(s) will be considered abandoned and the property of the Letter Carrie and will then be removed from the premises. The Letter Carrier will not assume any liability or responsibility for items that are considered abandoned due to the above time limit and will not reimburse the customer for said items or for any consequential damages that may result from removing/disposing of the item.
Fire and Theft
While we operate from a facility with a monitored security system, The Letter Carrier will not be held responsible for any loss through fire, flood, acts of God, or any other event that is not within our control.
Illegal Goods or Activities
Should we become aware of any possible illegal goods or activity (as defined by US Federal, State or City ordinance only) through our normal operations, it will be reported to the applicable law enforcement agencies. Packages may also be opened if in the normal course of operations there is reason to believe that a package may contain any dangerous or illegal goods.
Changes to Terms of Service
Should we need to change our Terms of Service and/or pricing we will notify our customers in one or more of the following manners as we deem appropriate.
1. Signage posted in the lobby area of our facility 30 days prior to the changes taking effect. 2. On our Website in the appropriate area 30 days prior to the changes taking effect. 3.
